Realme 8s 5G First Impression & Mediatek Dimensity 810 | Realme 8s 64MP Camera, 90Hz review
Today we see the 4th phone from the Realme series, 3 were already launched, the Realme 8, Realme 8 5G, Realme 8 Pro. and now this is the Realme 8s and there are 8i, whose First impressions are coming soon, But today we’re going to unbox the 8s 5G & I give you it’s impressions.
But let me tell you that this is a 5G phone and it’s the 1st phone with Dimensity 810 SoC with 6Nm Processor. the Dimensity 800 was a 7Nm SoC, this here is 6Nm. and that’s the big highlight.
Realme 8s 5G Box Conent
In the inbox, you get some cases, some documentation the case is not completely clear, it’s slightly on the greyish side. it’s an ok quality case, phone and its thick, and it seems like a typical Realme Phone, and in charging we see a 33w fast charger and you get a USB Type c cable for charging. this is all we see in the box.
Realme 8s 5G Build Quality
The Realme 8s 5G seems slightly Premium feel. if you look at the back. it’s a matte design and it’s shimmering if you see it from an angle. it looks nice. There are 2 color options Universe Blue and Universe Purple as well.
I think it’s quite nice. but the back is plastic and isn’t glossy, so there won’t be any fingerprints, I like that.
In-Hand Feel — it’s a nice and Realme Phone that’s good to hold in the hand. it’s not very thick nor too thin, nor broad. Even if you have small hands, you won’t have much difficulty.
Weight — The weight of Realme 8s 5G is 194g so missed it by 4g but I thought it’d be around 190g. but in-hand feel and weight distribution is good.
Case — the case which we get inbox fits snugly. it covers from the tops as well. so even you drop it hard. I’m confident that the case is good. fit’s nice without any problems. and fo uses it with the case on because it might get scratches on the plastic if it wears out on a surface.
Sim Card Tray — The Sim Card Tray, it has a dedicated SD card slot. so it’s a triple card slot.
Realme 8s 5G Display
The screen, I won’t say that it’s got completely thin bezels, they’re average-sized on the side and above. the chin below is slightly large than average. it’s a 6.5 FHD+ screen with a 90Hz fast refresh rate. it’s interesting as the Realme 8i, which is based in a lower SoC with G96. has a 120Hz.
This has Dimensity 810, but a 90Hz refresh rate. it’d be great if it were 120Hz. it has a 600Nits brightness which is enough and you’ll have issues under direct sunlight but it’s good indoors. and viewing angles are also ok. after all, it’s an IPS LCD display.
Realme 8s 5G Variants
There are 2 variants in this 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage, and 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage. and you do get virtual RAM in the upper variant and we tried to find it in the lower variant but we couldn’t. you can increase the RAM by 5GB, so the 8GB will become 13GB. But virtual RAM is not equivalent to real RAM.
Realme 8s 5G Battery
It has a 5000MAH battery with 33w fast charging, which I think is of decent size. under moderate usage, it’ll easily last for 1 to 1.5 days without any problems. and the battery will also charge up in about 1 to 1.5 hours, so that’s good enough.
Realme 8S 5G OS UI
you get Realme 2.0 that’s based on Andriod 11. and I’d like to mention, I’ve started noticing more ads lately. where the competition has started decreasing ads, but Realme here has increased them. which I don’t think is a good sign.
see, there’s no problem with the os, there are pre-installed apps that you can uninstall. but, these notifications and internal ads, shouldn’t be there.
Realme 8s 5G Performance
coming to the performance, it comes on Dimensity 810 Soc. It’s the 1st phone to come with it. to talk about the AnTuTu scores, it’s about 3.70 to 3.80L. if I compare it with the Dimensity 800, it’s about 3.40l, which is about a 10% rise.
so yes, there’s a slight boost in the performance. but, most importantly that was on 7Nm while this is on 6Nm. so it’s even more battery efficient. and that’s why a 5000MAH battery with 6 Nm SoC is excellent.
To talk about performance in day-to-day usage, you shouldn’t have any problem at all. you’ll have fun, there’s no delay or sluggishness is not felt. you can play BGMI on HD-HIGH settings and COD on High Settings. and it works quite well.
